In the manner of Porcelain de Paris (French/New York, founded 1773), early 20th century. A matched pair of French polychrome and gilt reticulated porcelain urns having an openwork and floral painted lid over the pierced collar and spreading paneled neck decorated with recessed graduated flowers on white ground alternating with royal blue ground with gilt enamel berried laurel ending in volutes affrontes, the ovoid bodies mounted with gilt and polychrome caryatids handles and decorated in royal blue ground with gilt enamel scrolling foliage, flowers and berried laurel centered with beaded gilt cartouche enclosing floral compositions to each side and resting on a reticulated oval foot and rectangular base, in similar palette. The underside of foot with crossed arrows in underglaze blue also in script underglaze red "Made in France". Approximate height 16", width 11.5" (handle to handle), base depth 4.5", base width 6".
