of ovoid form with applied openworked gilt handles, painted with a portrait of a lady on an iridescent ground with gilt highlights, the underside marked AUSTRIA with a beehive mark in underglaze blue. Height 20 inches. Property from the Collection of Sheldon and Carole Sepstead, Grafton, Wisconsin In good condition without chips, cracks or repair. Decoration mostly intact, gilt bright but with areas or rubbing, mainly where lid and body meet. Examination under UV light did not reveal any condition issues.
