(17th/18th Century) Portrait of a Lady oil on canvas signed PL (lower right) 48 3/4 x 39 inches. Property from the Collection of Dr. Walter Garst, Miami, Florida Light to moderate accumulation of white-ish mildew on the surface of the upper left canvas. Stretcher mark visible along the lower edge. Light to moderate craquelure throughout. There is a slightly discolored area around her proper left shoulder that appears to possibly be overpainted to the naked eye, but does not fluoresce under UV light. Examination of the entire canvas under UV light did not reveal further signs of restoration. Additional photos available upon request. Frame likely 19th century. Frame in overall good condition, stable, with fairly even gilt finish, having some typical age cracks and minor losses with small areas of gesso exposed.
