(19th/20th Century) Six Roosters oil on wood 9 x 11 inches. Property from the Collection of Dr. Walter Garst, Miami, Florida In good condition overall. Minor dent to the surface of the paint in the lower right corner with subsequent loss to the paint that is approximately 3/16 inches in width. Surface crack to the painted surface that extends from the interior edge of the right side of the frame approximately 2 1/2 inches inwards. Examination under UV light reveals a milky varnish that obfuscates much of the background foliage. The plumage of the roosters also fluoresces slightly under UV light, suggesting minor instances of retouch.
