Maker's Mark Obscured, London, 1876 each having a pierced border worked with foliate scrolls and swags interspersed with grotesque masks, raised on a pierced and foliate worked foot decorated with a coat of arms and the motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense. marked on sides of feet 79 ozt 14 dwt Width 10 inches. Property from the Collection of Dr. Walter Garst, Miami, Florida NOTE: Base and tops are a Marriage. Both bases marked on side of foot dated 1876 with makers mark possibly of Frederick Brasted. One tazze top having marks of John Marker & Edward Wakelin, 1761, the other marked for John Wakelin and William Taylor, 1782. In overall stable condition. Light to moderate surface scratching throughout consistent with polishing and use. Some rubbing and loss to gilt decoration. Gilding likely later. One tazze dish with rim bent slightly past horizontal. Screw joining dish to base visible on underside.
