John Crane Salt, London, 1878 the gilt lid decorated with putti in an Arcadian setting surmounting a cut glass body worked to show grape and vine decoration. marked on collar and under lid Height 10 inches. In overall good, stable usable condition. Glass appears intact without cracks or repairs. Some shelfware to footrim. Areas of seepage between glass and silver mounting. Silver elements with light surface scratching throughout consistent with polishing and use. Areas of rubbing to gilt decoration, particularly on raised areas and handle. Hallmarks on collar and underside of lid.
