20th century of oval form, having a domed lid with a floral branch handle, the body painted to show highly realistic botanical specimens, the underside with the underglaze blue waves mark and the Royal Copenhagen transfer printed mark. Width 15 inches. Property from the Estate of Rita Dee Hassenfeld, Palm Beach, Florida General layer of surface dust to both the cover and the body of the tureen, particularly evident in the recesses of the flowers. Minor area of sticker residue to the white ground between one of the branch form handles on the body. Minor wear to the gilt accents. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of restoration or repair, and only causes the aforementioned sticker residue to fluoresce.
