Engraved by James Scott (British, 1809-1899) after the painting by Edward Prentis (British, 1797-1854), "A Day's Pleasure", hand colored engraving, published in 1842 by Tilt and Boge in London. Engraving depicts seven stately gentleman and one butler gathered around a dining table enjoying cigarettes and drink while talking and reading pages, with several empty decanters and pitchers on the table and a river scene through the open window at center. Framed approximately 30.5" x 35", sight size approximately 25.5" x 30.25".
