Horace Bundy (American, 1814-1883) Pair of Portraits of a Gentleman and His Wife. Originally signed "H. Bundy, Claremont, May 1846" on the reverse (of one), photo of canvas back prior to lining accompanies lot. Oil on canvas, 27 1/2 x 23 3/8 in., framed. Condition: Lined, scattered retouch. N.B. Bundy worked as an itinerant artist and preacher in New Hampshire and Vermont during the 1840s and 1850s. He spent 1846 in Claremont, New Hampshire, when these portraits were painted.
