Shaker Maple and Cherry Oval Covered Sewing Carrier, probably Mount Lebanon, New York, c. 1930, the body with three lapped fingers and swing handle, lined in pink silk, containing seven sweetgrass baskets and five thimbles in various shapes and sizes, one velvet and one silk pincushion, two needle sharpeners, thread wax and thread, and a large number of ivory and whalebone knitting and sewing implements, ht. 7, wd. 6 1/4, lg. 9 1/2 in. N.B. The bottom is inscribed "May 5th 1933, Aurella Perpeticual Van Sicklen, West Lebanon, Columbia Co., NY, Birthday Gift from Sister Sadie at the Shakers."
