Federal Mahogany Inlaid Shelf Timepiece, Aaron Willard, Boston, c. 1800, the molded scrolled cornice with inlaid terminals centering a plinth above an inlaid oval and glazed door enclosing a painted iron kidney-shaped dial inscribed "Aaron Willard BOSTON" within a gilt cartouche and an eight-day weight-driven movement, the lower case with cockbeaded door inlaid with stringing and cross-banding joining ovolo corners, cutout feet with diagonal inlaid banding, old finish, (restoration), ht. 36 1/2 in.
