Edmond Malassis (French, born 1874) after Charles Thevenin (French, 1764-1838). "Neoclassical Interior with Knight" - 1928, hand colored etching, signed and dated within matrix lower right "Malassis 1928". Etching depicts a figural grouping just within the open arched doorway of a castle with a male knight at center dressed in armor with a winged putti or cherub affixing his cod piece as the subject peers out at viewer, a classical female nude to right holding the floral dressed armor helmet above her head as she descends a staircase, the remainder of the knight's uniform with his cape and coat of arms to lower left. Framed approximately 19.25" x 17.5", sight size approximately 9.5" x 7.5".
