Federal Giltwood Eglomise Looking Glass, possibly New York, early 19th century, the molded cornice with pendant acorn drops over the frieze centering an applied composition sunflower flanked by flowered hatchwork panels and applied five-petal flowers over two glass tablets, the upper one is reverse painted, all flanked by gilded split baluster columns punctuated by the same flowers at the lower corners, (replaced glass tablets, re-gilding), ht. 40 1/4, wd. 24 3/4 in. N.B. The mirror is inscribed "1812" on the reverse in chalk, and fragments of an early document are also affixed.
