Embroidered Wool Coverlet, Rebecca C. Hayward, Winchendon, Massachusetts, c. 1849, a tile pattern of floral devices worked in silk and chenille threads, and wool yarns in multiple shades of red, blue, and green on a black ground, each surrounded by flowering vines, enhanced by white cross stitches, the entire piece with cut corners, bordered by two floral vines, the back with original 19th century paisley material, stabilized for hanging, 99 1/4 x 86 1/2 in. N.B. Rebecca Hayward's family purportedly owned a local textile mill, which would have given her access to the best quality materials. Provenance: Kinnaman & Ramaekers.
