Carved and Painted Figural Wood Cane, "Bally Carver," Pennsylvania German, Berks County, late 19th/early 20th century, handle in the form of a full-bodied leaping dog on tapering shaft with carved initials "PSL" over renderings of a horse, bull, ram, pig, mule, goat, dog, rooster, chicken, duck, and goose, traces of red paint, varnished, no stand, (dog with front leg loss), lg. 36 1/2 in.
