Five Small Tokens of Love and Friendship, England or America, late 18th/early 19th century, a Battersea patchbox in the form of a bird, the brass-bound bottom lid inscribed "Sacred to Love," with a mirror on the interior; a pair of oval brass and grisaille enamel memorial mirror knobs depicting an angel and a memorial inscribed "Sacred to Friendship," in gilt brass frames; two gold mourning pins, one oval with a blue enamel frame, with an eglomise image of a woman seated at a memorial inscribed "James Addison Ob 12 May 1787 Ae. 49," the reverse with a lock of hair in a compartment, the other pin is rectangular, with a braid of hair surrounded by stones, inscribed on the reverse, "Jno. Read Esq. Obt 3rd March 1823 Obt 90"; (minor imperfections), ht. 1 3/4, 2 x 1 1/2 x 2 1/2, 1 3/4 x 1, 1/2 x 3 /4 in.
