Federal Mahogany and Tiger Maple Veneer Tambour Desk, 1815-20, Vermont, the top with molded edge overhangs a tiger maple frieze divided into three panels by cross-banded veneer over two reeded sliding doors opening to a valanced compartment over two drawers, flanking a prospect door with inlaid oval which opens to reveal two document drawers over an inlaid hinged foldout writing surface, felt-lined, above three cockbeaded tiger maple and mahogany drawers flanked by similarly veneered bottle drawers on reeded tapering ring-turned legs and feet, replaced brass pulls, old refinish, (imperfections), ht. 46, wd. 40 1/2, dp. 21 in.
