Grueby Pottery Christ Child Wall Plaque, Boston, early 20th century, round plaque with central figure of a standing Christ child with arms outstretched, glazed in glossy white on blue ground, impressed pottery mark and painted initials "MTC" and "K" on the reverse, (chips), dia. 12 1/4 in. Note: This composition comes from the tondos decorating the facade of Filippo Brunelleschi's Ospedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), which were executed by Luca della Robbia.
