In the 1940s [the sisters] moved from headquarters in Vienna and Paris to a New York studio at 49th Street and Madison Avenue. Here their work was sought by private collectors as well as by Elizabeth Arden and Saks Fifth Avenue, until their retirement in the 1950s. The last of the Kofler sisters died in 1974."-Eve Stwertka, second cousin to the sisters, Great Neck, New York.
