Pair of Painted and Decorated Rod-back Armchairs, Philadelphia, 1800-30, the curving crest rails enclose medallions above the tapering spindles and shaped incised seats on bamboo-turned legs with similar stretchers, old red-brown paint with gold paint forming a flower in the center of the medallions and highlighting the incising, (surface imperfections, height loss), ht. 32 1/2, 32, seat ht. 15 3/4, 16 in.
