Maple Stretcher-Base Table, probably Essex County, Massachusetts, mid-18th century, the rectangular hardwood overhanging top on four block, vase, and ring-turned legs ending in turned feet, joined by beaded straight skirt and box stretchers, old surface with some red paint, (imperfections), ht. 27, wd. 28 1/2, dp. 19 3/4 in. Provenance: Old label reads "Tavern Table Phoebe Preston Moore (b. 1754) great-grandmother of Dr. Nathaniel P. Breed."
