Group of Six Wallpaper and Paper Covered Boxes, America, early to mid-19th century, the first a hat box with white, brown, and green stylized floral motifs, the second a hat box labeled "W. M Shute's...Boston," the sides printed with top hats on blue paper, containing a Parisian top hat, the third box with brilliant blue bands with alternating stars and crosses interspersed with white swags and gray bands, lined with Lancaster, Pennsylvania German newspaper, the fourth printed "Nathan Porter's...Providence, R.I." on a white ground, with blue band, the fifth printed "Geo. Wilson...Northampton MA," the lid with stylized floral band, the last an epaulettes box in blue with label "A.W. Pollard...Boston," (breaks, discolorations, and losses), various sizes including 11 1/2 x 16 x 13 1/2, 9 x 14 x 11 1/2, 7 x 11 x 8 1/4, and 9 1/4 x 13 x 11 in. N.B. George Wilson was a milliner in Northampton from March 1847 until his death on August 7th, 1856.
