Federal Birch Tall Case Clock, signed "Joseph Chadwick," Boscawen, New Hampshire, c. 1820, the broken swan's neck pediment terminates in scrolls which flank the central plinth and finial above the glazed tombstone door which is flanked by turned columns and encloses a painted and decorated metal dial with floral spandrels, inscribed "Joseph Chadwick," and an eight-day brass weight-driven movement, above the molded and inlaid waist door on a box base, similarly outlined in ovolo stringing above the molded base with front and side shaping, refinished, (restored), ht. 87 in. N.B. Joseph Chadwick's working dates in Boscawen, New Hampshire, where he made clocks, from 1810-31.
