Balley was born at Hopkinton Oct 28 1813 wrought in the ninth year of her age," New England, the identification centered in a flowering panel at the bottom third of the work beneath a pious verse and alphabet bands surrounded by a floral and leafy scrolling border, worked in shades of blue, yellow, and green, silk threads on linen ground, bound with ribbon, framed, (toning, fading, staining c.r., losses to the linen fabric across the center and small scattered areas in upper border, old repairs to the corners), 22 x 21 in.
