Chippendale Carved Wavy Birch Serpentine Slant-lid Desk, coastal Essex County, Massachusetts, 1760-1800, the dovetailed case with the lid opening to an interior with a central fan-carved drawer above two plain drawers flanked by small drawers above valanced compartments over an arced top drawer with three long drawers below, all with cockbeaded surrounds above a conforming molded base with a fan-carved central drop on four ball and claw feet, original brass, refinished, (imperfections), ht. 44 1/4, wd. 42, dp. 20 1/2 in.
