Attributed to Daniel Evans (American, ac. 1838-1850) "The Seat of Gen. James Honeywood of Arkland." Unsigned Mixed media including watercolor, gouache, pen and ink on paper, 9 x 14 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Repairs and creases to margin, unobtrusive staining and toning, tape residue to reverse. N.B. Both Old Sturbridge Village and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Center at Colonial Williamsburg have in their collections wooden boxes papered with watercolors depicting architectural subjects enclosed by a border of blocks and squares, as here.
