English, 19th century. A Late Georgian style mahogany tantalus set, the box of square form raised on four brass ball feet and with hinged lid having curved front edge and mounted with slim rectangular block to back edge, the hinged lid opening to reveal four blown glass decanters and accompanying tasting glass, the decanters with rounded top edges surmounted by flared rim and compressed saucer stopper, the top surfaces all with hand painted gilt floral and foliate decoration. Unmarked. Closed approximately 9" tall x 7.375" wide x 7.125" deep. Decanter approximately 6.75" tall, 2.75" wide.
