Federal Cherry and Maple Tall Case Clock, David Wood, Newburyport, Massachusetts, c. 1800-15, the hood with three reeded plinths above an arched molding and glazed tombstone door enclosing a polychrome and gilt dial with fruit designs, seconds indicator, and calendar aperture inscribed "D. Wood" and brass weight-driven movement, all flanked by reeded columns, the cockbeaded waist door flanked by reeded quarter columns on cove-molding and base with reeded band and cut-out feet, refinished, (imperfections), ht. 89 in. Note: Engraved label affixed to back of door for David Wood, watch and clockmaker.
