Federal Cherry Tilt-top Stand, New England, c. 1815-20, the octagonal top with applied edge tilting over the baluster and ring-turned post on three curving legs, top edge, post and legs retain early dark stain with gold accents, (minor imperfections), ht. 28, top 22 x 18 in. Provenance: Descended in the family of James Parmele (1763-1828), Durham, Connecticut, and was sold along with his tools and a group of spoons and documents relating to his service in the Revolutionary War at Alderfers, Hatfield, Pennsylvania, September 9, 1999.
