Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) Dove Subject, 1959, edition of 500 (Ramie, 435). Signed, numbered and inscribed "EDITION PICASSO MADOURA 152/500 MADOURA" on the base, stamped "EDITION PICASSO" and "MADOURA" on the base. White earthenware turned vase decorated with engobes and knife engraving in white enamel with blue and black, height 5 3/4 in. (14.6 cm). Condition: Subtle wear to inside of rim. Provenance: The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, Edward & Bertha Rose Collection of Ceramics. N.B. The sale of this lot will benefit the acquisition fund, The Rose Art Museum.
