Pearlware Quart Mug, England, late 18th/early 19th century, blue, dark brown, medium brown, and tan, combed, marbled slip decoration on a creamy white field, (chips, losses, discoloration), ht. 5 7/8 in. Note: Accompanying the mug is a note written by Marshall Hill in 1912, describing the mug, where he bought it and some references to similarly decorated mugs and another note from another purchaser of the mug.
