Shaker Cherry, Birch, Ash, and Figured Maple Sewing Desk, probably Canterbury, New Hampshire Community, c. 1860, the bird's-eye maple gallery above the twelve-drawer case with frame and panel construction and a pull-out work surface above the asymmetrically placed vertical paneling which is repeated on the right side and has fine beading surrounding the paneling, drawers and cupboard, on turned, slightly tapering feet which begin with a concentric circle; original drawer and cupboard pulls, old refinish, (very minor imperfections), ht. 42, wd. 31 1/2, dp. 27 1/8 in.
