Set of Five Federal Fancy Chairs, New England, c. 1815, the thumb back stiles flank the curving crest which centers a painted and decorated medallion above balloon seats supported on turned tapered legs ending in button feet, original surface includes yellow ground paint accented with gold, black and green striping on painted old rush seats, (very minor surface imperfections) ,ht. 31 3/4, seat ht. 17 3/4 in. Provenance: Estate of Katherine Seeler, Nantucket, Massachusetts.
