Walnut Gateleg Table, Chowan County, North Carolina, early 18th century, the round top overhangs a base with drawers at either end above block and ring turned gate legs which support the hinged leaves above a block and baluster turned stretcher on turned bulbous feet, old surface, (restoration), ht. 29 3/4, wd. 50 x 49 in. Provenance: Direct descent from a family originating in Pitt County, North Carolina.
