American School, 19th Century, The Spot Where Hamilton Fell. Indistinctly signed l.r. Chalk on sandpaper depicting a monument, rocks and trees overlooking the Hudson River, 16 x 20 in. framed. Condition: crease l.l. a few smudges. Note: Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of the United States Treasury met his death on July 11,1804, while participating in, but withholding fire in a duel with then Vice-president Aaron Burr, in Weehawkin, New Jersey.
