Two Brass Repeating Igniter Lighting Devices, England, c. 1867, in the form of a classical oil lamp, the hinged cover with Egyptian figurehead in relief, conceals a turntable advancing mechanically by squeezing two snake-head handles which would have struck a light on a wooden disk with ten small stearine candles with a friction primer, traces of green paint, one has a petal-form candlecup, both stamped "PATENT B & AB,"on base, (missing wood disks), ht. 2 1/8, 2 5/8 in.
