Eanger Irving Couse (American, 1866-1936) Native Americans, Sketch for Beacon Blanket Unsigned. Oil on canvas (unstretched), sight size 10 1/4 x 7 1/2 in. (26.2 x 19.4 cm), framed. Condition: Minor wear/creases, subtle surface grime. N.B. The lot is accompanied by a handwritten letter from the artist discussing a group of sketches he had just completed, in which the above piece was included. The letter is written on the Taos Society of Artists letterhead and dated June 12, 1925.
