Continental, late 19th century. A collection of two miniature portraits of British Queens comprising one depicting Queen Elizabeth I of England (1533-1603) as a young woman with red hair coifed atop her head and bejeweled and wearing a ruff collar over crimson and lace robes; and a portrait depicting Queen Sophie Charlotte of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1744-1818) depicting the fair haired royal on a blue background wearing an ermine trimmed red cape over blue gown, each portrait to an ebonized wood frame with oval inset. Portrait of Elizabeth signed lower right "Rene". Each approximately 6" x 5.125". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
