Continental, early 20th century. Pair of matching figural gilt metal and enameled chambersticks or candle holders, each with small cast wingless cherub or putto seated, holding on to shaft supporting candle cup with enameled ornament. Figure resting above oval form base decorated with hand painted enamels of grape leaves and vines with dark cobalt blue borders raised on four gilt metal scrolled feet. Approximate height 4.75", width 6.75", depth 3.5". Provenance: From an Oakbrook, Illinois collection whereby sold at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, Chicago, Illinois on November 10, 2010 as Lot 573 whereby acquired and sold to Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
