Swedish, 19th century. A pair of Gustavian style armchairs of Rococo form with arched backs decorated with two central carved flowers, curved padded arms with scrolled knuckled hand supports, the back, arms, and seat upholstered in conforming pintucked cream fabric with brass nailhead trim, over the serpentine seat rail with two central carved flowers with trailing vines, resting on two front cabriole legs headed by paterae, terminating in leaf feet and two cabriole back legs. Approximate height 38", width 27", depth 25", seat to floor 17". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Helen Ballard, Atlanta, Georgia.
