American School, early 20th century. "The Curious Donkey", oil on canvas laid down on artists board, apparently unsigned. Charming well painted character study of a gray donkey or ass in a barnyard wearing a saddle with pommel behind its head, the animal holding a sweet and curious expression on its face. Framed approximately 26.25" x 22". Unframed approximately 20.75" x 17".
