Federal Mahogany and Flame Birch Veneer Sideboard, Boston, Massachusetts, attributed to Thomas Seymour (1771-1848), c. 1810, the mahogany bow-front top with outset corners and edge inlay overhangs a facade of veneered cockbeaded drawers (the central one of which is sectioned), and cupboards flanked by turned and reeded columns continuing to reeded legs ending in turned tapering feet. The flame birch veneer facades are outlined in crossbanded mahogany veneers with a patterned banding outlining the entire case; replaced brasses, old refinish, (height loss, restoration to legs, other imperfections), ht. 37 1/4, wd. 73 1/4, dp. at center 25 in.
