Painted and Engraved Masonic Cast Iron, Brass, and Lead Tobacco Jar, early 19th century, oval brass finial on domed octagonal cover fitted onto conforming container plated with lead, the sides decorated with various engraved designs: "Daniel Hall" over a foliage-filled pitcher flanked by tobacco pipes and goblets, a shield with Masonic symbols encircled with the words "FRIENDSHIP LOVE AND TRUTH," a ship at sea and an anchor; the lid and base painted dark red with black, green, and yellow highlights, (wear), ht. 7 1/4, lg. 4 7/8, wd. 3 7/8 in.
