Chippendale Carved Walnut Side Chair, Pennsylvania, 1760-80, the serpentine crest which centers a shell has scrolled-back terminals above a pierced splat, molded and shaped seat rail and front cabriole legs. The chair includes through tenons and rear rounded legs. The shell-carved front legs end in ball and claw feet; old surface with red velvet slip seat, (minor imperfections), ht. 40, seat ht. 17 1/4 in.
