French, Late 18th century. Pair of Louis XVI style beech wood framed fauteuils or armchairs with oval medallion form back topped with carved floral motif. Chairs upholstered in cream and gold silk fabric upholstery with diamond motif accented with metal tacking on back, seat and armrests. Scrolled arms with reed motif above patera blocks at top of fluted tapered legs. Height 38", width (across arms) 24.5", depth 21". Seat to floor 17.5".
