Chippendale Mahogany Carved Oxbow Desk, Salem, Massachusetts, 1780-1800, the slant lid opens to an interior of small drawers and valanced compartments flanking the central fan-carved drawer with two others below, all with end-blocking above a case of reverse serpentine drawers with cockbeaded surrounds above a heavy molded base with a central fan carved pendant on shaped ogee bracket feet ending in platforms, original brass, (minor imperfections), ht. 44, wd. 41 1/2, dp. 22 1/2 in.
