Early Steiff Felt Character Policeman Doll, Germany, c. 1910, black shoebutton eyes, ear button, identified as American Policeman (fat), classic large-nosed, barrel-chested, knobby-kneed, big-footed Steiff character man (very light soil), jointed neck, arms and legs, hands as fists, navy blue felt policeman's uniform with blue stitched trim, brown leather belt with holder for wooden club (club has leather strap added to ease strain on old leather), almost matching felt hat (replacement, felt repair inside legs, minor moth holes, some brass jacket buttons missing), ht. 14 in.
