Early Papier Mache Shoulder Head Doll, Germany, c. 1820-30s, doll known as Rosie Green, light brown painted eyes, closed mouth, rosy cheeks (light rubs, small scuff on nose, half-in square dent on back of head), black painted hair with short curls, firmly stuffed long slender "milliner's model" kid body, wooden lower limbs, flat red slippers, hands with carved fingers, all original clothing, long white cotton pantaloons and slips, salmon red and green plaid silk dress in strong condition, piped sleeves gathered and tied with ribbon detail, ht. 19 1/2 in.
