Early American Rubber Shoulder Head Doll, mid 19th century, may be signed Goodyear (clothing stitched on, never removed) after his 1844 patent for the process of vulcanizing rubber, black center-part molded hair in flowing waves to nape of neck, black pupil-less eyes, lashes painted on lower lids, closed smiling mouth, rosy cheeks (minimal crazing and wear), cloth body, red leather arms with separate fingers, black wool knickers and vented jacked with red trim, brass buttons, black leather shoes, ht. 18 in.
