Early Papier Mache Shoulder Head Doll, Germany, c. 1840, blue painted eyes (paint loss one pupil), closed mouth, black molded hair with braided bun in back, flat falling hair in front of exposed ears (nose rub, soil), long kid body with wooden lower legs, flat red painted shoes (body broken at waist, recovered legs), long wooden arms, original clothes, white muslin undergarments, gold and green plaid wool challis dress with v-shaped waist (some moth damage), ht. 22 in.
